Who We Are:
Prairie Band, LLC is a tribally owned business and multifaceted holding company. We have partnerships involving teaming, and joint venture relationships with outside organizations to leverage the preference advantages tribally owned businesses have in government and corporate contracting.

Like many Tribal governments around the country, the Indian gaming phenomenon has provided the means to once again grow and flourish economically. Since the inception of Class III Gaming, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation has utilized its financial resources to improve much-needed essential governmental services and infrastructure including police, fire and emergency services, health care and educational assistance, as well as housing, planning and environmental services.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Area Operations Manager for our growing company! As the Area Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our organization’s growth strategies. Responsible for the health and safety, reporting, and monitoring of our organization's operations in a specific region or territory.

Major Duties:

  • Oversees multiple small companies
  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution
  • Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce costs per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve proprietary tools and systems
  • Work closely with legal and safety departments to ensure that activities remain compliant
  • Oversee materials and inventory
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management
  • Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operation of the company
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
  • Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity
  • Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget
  • Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Four years of proven success in an operations management role
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field
  • Strong skills in budget development and oversight
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service
  • Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes
  • Knowledge of business productivity software and an aptitude for learning new applications
  • Working knowledge of management software programs, including NetSuite, QuickBooks, and CenterPoint Payroll
  • Strong IT skills, including database development
  • Multiple years of financial and account reporting experience to include P&L responsibility
