KFMC is currently seeking a Clinical Care Review Nurse. As a member of the Clinical Care Review Team, this position will support our Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) activities in Oklahoma, completing reviews of care provided and processing selected cases and/or special requests in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with the federal requirements for QIO services. This position can be in-person, hybrid or fully-remote, with KFMC’s office being located in Topeka, KS. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Nursing degree is required. Candidates should be licensed and in good standing with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or through another Nursing Compact License State. A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in the hospital setting is preferred
Primary Accountability:
This position is responsible for completing retrospective reviews and processing of selected cases and/or special requests in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with KFMC contract requirements. Conducts utilization reviews to determine if patients are receiving care appropriate to illness or condition. Monitors patient charts and records to evaluate care concurrent with the patient’s treatment. Evaluates the quality of patient care. Monitors adherence to clinical best practices. Collects and compilies data as required and according to applicable policies and regulations. Consults with physicians as needed. This position works in collaboration with internal staff members and/or departments as well as external sources; the position is expected to function independently, as well as collaboratively.
