Job: Mathematics Support Specialist (Part-time)

Baker University is seeking a colleague to work part-time in our Math Center on campus, beginning August 2020.  The Math Center’s primary function is to provide tutoring support for all Baker students.  Students in any Baker courses are welcome to make use of the Math Center’s drop-in tutoring, and students in developmental math courses may be required to attend periodically.  Baker’s Math Center is part of our Student Academic Success Center (SAS) which provides tutoring support for all disciplines, among other functions.

A master’s level degree in mathematics or math education is required.  Both expertise in working with students who are challenged by mathematics and teaching experience are preferred. Additionally, this person may be invited to teach one or two sections of MA090 (Intermediate Algebra) in the Spring 2021 and in following terms as an adjunct for additional compensation.  Math Center hours are generally flexible and up to the new hire

This position is part-time from August through December and from February through May.

Founded by a Methodist bishop in 1858, Baker is the oldest university in Kansas. The SAS is part of the University’s College of Arts and Sciences and Undergraduate School of Education campus which is located in Baldwin City, Kansas.
